The article examines the process of text detection at inhomogeneous background 
in the video sequence. Two-step scheme of video data registration 
was considered. The method for text detection in images using a continuous 
wavelet transform and iterative processing of images at different scales 
were proposed. Results of using the method of text detection in images 
were investigated. Recommendations for the automatic selection 
of scale wavelet were proposed. Computer implementation of text detection showed 
about 85% of successful results that on average 15% better than 
the gradient methods of text detection on the images.
