This article examines the use of generalized logarithmic image processing model for differential-based edge detection. The results are compared determination of edge areas of the image in different ways, namely: classic Sobel, generalized logarithmic model and Jourlin-Pinoli model, which is a special case of the previous one. The influence of model parameter values of controlling the quality of the selection of boundaries in order to choose its optimal value was investigated. The research results are illustrated by examples.
